Mori: we are kinda the opposite in some ways, Rogan and me: we sometimes get nervous-cat when someone says they love us, and we will request they NOT say it to us because for us, those actions of giving the fish are far stronger and more reassuring.
Plus, I feel like “I love you” is a phrase everyone knows but rarely defines. “I will get between you and your shitbag family and do the dishes” is powerful because it can’t be reduced to shorthand. It’s a clear statement, in my mind, while “I love you” rarely is.
